Laser Hair Removal How does it work? The Pitanga DR uses gentle light pulse and electric energies to damage the hair follicle. This disables the follicle from growing hair, which means that gradually over several treatments, there is a permanent reduction in the amount of hair in that area. Is treatment safe? Treatment is very safe for the skin. There are many advances in this technology that make it one of the safest hair removal systems available for all skin colors. There are no long term health hazards from light or electric energies used in the Pitanga. Both have been used for decades in medicine, surgery and aesthetics without adversity. What kind of results can I expect? Each treatment will result in less hair coming back, as well as hair growing progressively lighter in color, finer, and slower-growing in an area. Most people achieve satisfactory clearance after 4-8 treatments, but individual results may vary depending on medical and genetic factors. Lighter colored hair may require more treatments than darker colored hair. Does treatment hurt? The sensation is often described as "hot pinch", or "snapping" feeling. The sensation only lasts for fraction of a second, and you may feel warmth or tingling sensation for a short time afterward. Most people tolerate treatment without any topical anesthetic, which can provide if needed. What to expect after each treatment? Temporary pinkness in the skin lasts a very short time, most people return to work or normal activities immediately after treatment. The treated area will "shed" some hairs over the next 3-4 weeks, and you may experience a period of hairlessness in the area while you wait for the next treatment. Who are candidates for Laser Hair Removal? Almost everyone can receive laser treatment, although there are a few medical conditions that contraindicate people from treatment, we will discuss this when you come in for your free consultation! Laser Skin Rejuvenation How is the laser skin rejuvenation procedure performed? A cold gel is applied to the area to be treated and eye patches or dark glasses to protect you eyes from the bright light. The smooth crystal surface of the Pitanga SR wand is gently applied to your skin and pulses of light are released. The sensation is often described as "slight sting", like the snapping of a small rubber band. A numbing cream may be used, but is seldom required. Treatment is generally administered in a series of procedures that provides excellent long-term results, low down time and minimal adverse effects. How many treatments are necessary? Depending on the number of conditions you are treating, and the severity of the individual problem, a series of five or six treatment sessions may be recommended. Treatments are repeated every four weeks. What happens after each treatment? Temporary pinkness in the skin lasts for a very short time. The improvement in pigmented and vascular irregularities can often be appreciated by the time you return for you next treatment a month later. Brown spots temporarily go darker before they lighten. Daily use of sun-block and refraining from any tanning is highly recommended between treatments. Who are candidates for laser skin rejuvenation? Anyone who wants to improve the signs of sun damage and aging in the skin, such as pigmented and vascular irregularities, uneven or rough skin texture. This treatment can be done on the face, neck, chest, legs, hands and arms. Permanent makeup What is it? Permanent makeup is a process to impregnate under the surface of the skin by means of tiny sterile, disposable needle. Is it safe? All the equipment and instruments we use for permanent makeup are sanitized. Disposable sterile needles and accessories are wrapped individually. Surgical gloves are used for each procedure. Does the procedure hurt? A very effective topical anesthetic system is used to numb the area to eliminate potential pain and discomfort. How long does the permanent makeup last? In many individuals these procedures are indeed permanent. For others they may be semi-permanent. A variety of factors may influence the longevity of permanent makeup. |
